There are no words to describe the Waipi’o Valley. If you head west (left) after the 900 foot descent into the valley and you survive the trek you can view several gorgeous waterfalls including the highest one on the island, Hi’ilawe Falls.

The video is of the Waipi’o beach and yes your eyes are correct that is a fresh water stream coming from the valley meeting the crashing waves of the ocean. It was amazing sitting literally in the fresh water stream and watching the crashing waves come towards you. As you look back up the valley you can see the waterfalls and the palm trees swaying in the breeze.

Make sure you do your research before you venture down into the valley. There are tours you can take and overnight trips but you need to contact the proper entities.
