Gorman Falls HD
Gorman Falls is located north west of Austin, Texas, due west of Lampasas, Texas and is located in both Lampasas and San Saba counties. The park is just over 5300 acres and provides over 15 miles of hiking trails, you can also swim, camp, fish, explore the caves and more. Cave exploration is by tour or special permit only. There are various fees for entrance to the park. If you just want to stay the day it's $4 per person, or if you would like to stay a little longer here is the link to the fee page for the park, TPWD Colorado Bend State Park Fees. We've also included a link to the map of the park, Colorado Bend Map. For the most part the trail to Gorman falls is relatively easy, however it has a rather steep, risky descent upon reaching the actual falls. The trail down the last 1/8 of a mile or so is slippery and there are steel cable guides to hold on to as you make your descent. And as always you can check the upcoming weather at the Bend by clicking on the link for Colorado Bend Weather. As with every other activity we describe on our site, hike and explore at your own risk. We can't guarantee your safety, nor that the weather will be perfect we just provide you the information.
