In researching my trip to Yellowstone I used extensively, the book by Paul Rubinstein, Lee H. Whittlesey and Mike Stevens, The Guide to Yellowstone Waterfalls and Their Discovery ." If you have any desire to backpack in and see some of the off trail locations use this book as a guide. I can't tell you how valuable it was in setting my itinerary for the trip. Several of these falls are rather easy to locate, if you have any inclination to view any of the sights off the beaten path I highly advise you to purchase the four, "Trails Illustrated Maps of Yellowstone National Park,by National Geographic." There are five total, one that encompasses the whole park and then one for each of the four quadrants of Yellowstone. Make sure that you either purchase all five or at least the quadrant that you plan to spend the majority of your time. The map by National Geographic that shows the entire park is not as detailed as the quadrant maps, and the quadrant maps are the only ones that show the actual backcountry campsites. Remember that you have to reserve those sites in person before you can use them and you also have to obtain a backcountry permit to go backpacking in the Yellowstone backcountry. http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit.
